Another 1 of 1 million reasons to stay away from the dump London has become.
Fine, please stay away. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my city even more.

Car meets at the Ace Cafe must be a thrilling event with high performance cars at walking pace..........
Ace Cafe is a long way from Central London, They've not long had speed bumps installed on the road out the front to try and slow people down

I used to drive in London at lot previously for jobs and haven’t for about 10 years and how it’s changed!!

I’ve started a new job that involves London run at least twice a week and what a miserable experience it is - usually get to London about 5am roads and pavements almost empty and have to roll about at 20mph - infuriating.

Cameras every 500 yards and nearly one on every set of traffic lights for red light/speed - Getting stopped at almost every junction at the lights because I’m travelling so slowly - driving towards the lights on green then they turn red just as you get to them and there aren’t any cars waiting to go on the other roads - so stopped for no reason.

Takes absolutely ages to get anywhere luckily I get less drops because of it but is so stressful thinking you could loose your licence in 2 roads with the amount of cameras on them! And after doing the run the anxiety of did I miss one or did I cross that light too late is ridiculous, literally waiting for a ticket to come through for some minor offence.

I don’t take any chances with the lights or cameras 20mph speed limiter on and if the light changes and I’m near the line emergency stop.

Overtake a bike correctly giving space etc they get a bit of a hill and they fking undertake you with no regard to the space drivers give them - they’ll squeeze through a gap almost touching the side of the truck! Wtf

then you have the quicker bikes that again give them space and overtake and they match your fking speed leaving you on the wrong side of the road or you slow down and they slow down because they’ve got tired!

And I notice that all the 20mph signs about they don’t advertise the 30mph limit as much when you leave the zone!

Bit of a lame one but 20mph signs on every lamppost and sprayed onto the road and luminous yellow boxes everywhere you look is ruining the street scene of London.

Utterly ridiculous situation 20 is definitely not plenty!!

I’m probably going to get slated but it pisses me off every time I get a London run and I have a lot of time to muse over these thoughts whilst doing it.

I feel your pain. Pre-20 London was already basically a fine-trap. When I used to drive there it was a daily challenge not to put a wheel nut in a bus lane / yellow box etc etc.

I drove to mid Wales last week. 8am, empty roads, constantly braking to get the speed down to 20, through empty villages and open roads with no houses on them. Just plain stupid. I had a bike ride planned in Wales next month and I've decided to stick to Devon.
