Gents,

I have a 2013 CB1100 and love it, super easy in town, comfortable commuter and not a theft target, now I'm in my 50's these are more important than being on the latest ohlin suspension race rep.. it also gets more compliments in the city off other riders than any bike I've owned previous, so it must be a looker.. however its time to get a replacement.

The replacement will be used under 3yrs, under 5k miles.. I keep getting drawn to the Triumph Bobber, love the looks and style but I've never ridden one.. however I keep looking at the CB1100RS, it is similar money, an upgrade from what I already have with the same engine as I already know.. etc

anyone ridden both? any opinions.. what would you choose? or something else entirely I might have missed?

Aren't they two completely different seating positions?

They are completely different in every way.

Given that, test ride the bobber and you'll know either way.

Also try a Speed Twin and Thruxton, both great bikes with plenty of character.

Why not spend the money on a full nitron setup for the CB? I'm only 32 and get back ache from just looking at the Bobber. Tank range is appalling as well - and thats coming from a VFR1200F owner.

Agreed totally different. I guess I need to take a Bobber out for an afternoon.. the want factor is based purely on looks, the marketing has done it's job.... Head says stick with the CB.. tank range wouldn't bother that much as I don't cover more than 50-60 miles any given day. Covering 2k per year tops..

Pop to Triumph West London over in Byfleet and take one for a test ride.
If you want a cruiser that's torquey, far from rapid and forward foot pegs, you might like.

It's very different to what you have, but that doesn't mean you wont like it.

I'm in Surrey too! I bought mine from Triumph West London (Byfleet - nowhere near West London!!)

Drop me a PM if you want to meet up and have a look round mine/have a go.

Agree on Torquey and not especially that rapid - although miles faster round corners than you'd think by looking at it. Pegs are neutral - straight underneath you rather than forward but certainly further forward than a sports bike.

Forward in comparison to a normal bike.
I liked the one I rode, it was just a little small and no replacement for my Diavel.
Quite liked the Fatbob as well ( despite the grief I got from my mates )

Agree with forward compared to a normal bike - thought you meant forward controls - feet out in front of you, which it’s not.

Diavel is a great looking bike. Mate of a mate has one which I’ve had a look round but I’ve not had a go yet.

Isn't the CB1100 discontinued now? maybe worth keeping. I'd love one day, everything i hear about them is that it's something that'll last forever.

Try it, but do so in urban or touring mode first!
I do like muscle bikes and muscle cars, but it’s horses for courses.
