(Apologies for the Wail link) can get fined for warning of speed traps, should Waze not face the same?
Don't see why, they aren't warning you of speed traps specifically, just giving a heads up of police activity.
Agreed, it's not just Waze, it's a feature of most sat navs - Apple Maps, TomTom, etc.

If the idea is to get people to slow down rather than make money, then notifying people of a danger area is a good thing. They should I assume only be parking up in dangerous areas where accidents have occurred so an early warning improves safety.

Argh. They are well camouflaged to look like Police. A30 yesterday had one in a huge Volvo XC90. Everyone slowed up to 60 and it created a huge convoy as they were too scared to pass at 70.
You can tell they love it. Arm on the window sill, sitting at 60.
They are not camouflaged. Easy to tell the difference, big writing on the back, as well as the side-chequered colouring differences.

And these

Fined for helping to enforce the limit and prevent crime rolleyes
In that case should we create more and more fake "Police here" warnings?

One case 12 years ago and he could have got out of it if he’d been smarter.

I warn others of speed traps and will continue to do so.

Those are 10 year old pics. Check out the current XC90 scheme.
I agree that Traffic Officer is the big giveaway but that isn't obvious until you are relatively close.

Small writing. Proportionately.
To deliberately confuse.

In the case of the man who was criminalised for flashing his lights,
Prosecutor John Owston told Thompson he was not trying to avoid an accident occurring. He said: ’You were doing it to warn them of a speed trap because as a motorist you don’t want other motorists to be caught speeding. You wanted to make sure that people who were speeding slowed down.’

Mr Owston added: ’The natural reaction of most drivers in those circumstances would be to brake. Your first reaction would be that there is some sort of hazard ahead and I will approach it at a lower speed'.

So what is wrong with that then ?

Sly. Our upholders of our laws.

Aren't the morons the ones who panic and slow down to 60?

AIUI if they cruised at 70mph it would result in a much bigger queue as very few people would want to risk passing them. At 60mph those of us with a functioning brain no it's perfectly legal to overtake them.

It only takes one or two overly cautious to sit at 60 then everyone else is forced to queue behind. The impatient/late/moronic drivers further back have no clue or interest in whats causing the hold up so undertaking and crazy manoeuvres abound.
Yeah, really safe policies....

The day I see 'Keep Left Unless Overtaking' on a Gantry Display will be the day I believe they really want to keep us safe, our licences unsullied and traffic moving efficiently.
That'll be the day.

It’s the police that are creating a hazard, all in the business of collecting money, dressed up as “safety”

It's good someone can see the wood for the trees when you are driving in peak summer traffic.

Just ask BossHogg if he looks in his rear view mirror when he is on patrol...

To be fair to the 2nd quoted poster I assumed he meant that he always clicked the “not there” option for the NHTO cars?

As for the Secret Lemonade Drinker - it just comes across as pathetic, and ignorant.

Saw exactly that in my drive back from London a couple of weeks ago, "keep left unless overtaking" and, "Don't hog the middle lane" - mix of the two - can't remember if it was M4 AND M5, but defo M5 all the way down.

Brilliantly, a LOT of cars moved left when the saw the notices.

Then, as the man in the orthopaedic shoes once said....I stand corrected.
