I've no issue with CM. Grief affects us in different ways and personally, if he prevents someone from killing another road user and their family suffering the same grief then that's fine by me.

Killing someone else in such preventable ways is such a waste. Personally I'd direct my anger towards those who still use their phones and drive the wrong way down streets , instead of someone who, rightly or wrongly, is trying to make a difference.

He's not a neighbour. It's not tragic, he's reporting relatively minor traffic offences

Do we want to live in a world where nobody reports a crime when they see one?

Let’s say this. I preferred the world before dash cams, speed cameras..

I’m sure you’d be delighted if one of his types reported you for an overtake at speed and you got clobbered smile

1. I mean, the younger me would have almost certainly agreed with you, and I did indeed live in the world before speed and dash cams. What was the younger me like as a driver? An absolute PITA to be quite honest, almost out of control, and many of my mates were too. I'm extremely grateful that I didn't do anyone any harm.

2. I'm not sure I can be done for speed on uncalibrated dashcam evidence.

I'm not sure I understand the complaints; we all know there are countless sh*t drivers out there, people who do not know their arse from their elbow, and who cause all sorts of problems. Why are we bothered if their ineptitude gets them into bother?

I mean blimey, as it is right now more than than 99.999999999999+% of transgressions go unreported.

So, not reported by a third party, and what was used to show the speed, the vehicles speedo?

Plus, I'm pretty sure there's a reason why Joe Achilles didn't plead not guilty. smile

Happy to be corrected but that moron ^^^ filmed HIMSELF.

In line with what heebeegeebee said I would be surprised if you could be done for speeding as a result of a dashcam recording from somebody else's car, on the basis that the Police would need to adjust for the relative speeds of both vehicles.

That's the funny thing, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest who caught me. But then I'm a big boy and have the mental capacity to take responsibility for my own actions.

I've been prosecuted for using my phone while driving, I've had parking tickets, I've been prosecuted for Due Care & Attention, and have had several speeding tickets. They've made me cross, but only with myself for driving like a dick, nobody made me do it.

And despite the above I don't have an issue with CM, good on him for doing something about the terrible driving standards in the UK.
