That's not correct. Once the keeper change is actioned, the tax is null and void. Any complete months are refunded to the previous RK and the in-month tax is lost. Also you have to tax it for the whole of the month you are in so DVLA get 2 month's tax for the month it is sold in. You can get round this by doing the change of keeper at the end of the month, but it's definitely a clever money making scheme!

, I take it that you're not aware that HTP99 actually works for a main dealer so I suspect he knows how to do his job.
I wouldn’t mind, but I even explained how it works!
