Took the bike out for a spin today.

Absolutly amazing how many folks were out in cars doing nowhere near the posted speed limit where it was perfectly safe to do so.

Now I know that the speed limits are not a target, and I know the people have the right to drive at whatever speed they want, but surely people must know they have a responsibilty to keep the traffic moving by driving competantly?!

Worst one today was a Micra holding up a tractor, biddy was doing 15MPH down a country late. The tractor actually managed to OVERTAKE her safely!, then there was a silly middle aged bint in a KA doing 25 in a straight 40MPH main road. When I overtook her she tried to block me therefore pushing me into the other carrageway, then when I got in front she flashed her lights and beeped the horn... she then did this to the next 5 cars that over took her

Fecking scarey. Is this what the pace scheme people are going to be like?! Carnage! Justified idocy!

I agree mate, these folks cause frustration in others and can lead to the stress levels in other drivers going through the roof.

Why cant they drive to the conditions and adjust their speed to suit. Like you say they can drive at whatever speed they see fit, I just wish it was a bit quicker. The french have the right idea if it says 50 they do 50 etc.

Probably because they are old and terrified of driving.
They may only use the car once a week to go to the shops.

You cant exactly take these people off the road. If your old and living on your own the ability to drive is essential. Even if it is rarely used you cant get by without a car.

While annoying, these people have the right to drive at the speed they feel comfortable with, indeed I wouldn't want them to be driving faster than they feel confident to. They do not however have any right to try and block an overtake, they should in fact attempt to facilitate the overtake, as advised in the Highway Code that the feckers may never have read.

They do have that right, but not to hold up traffic even if unintentionally. It's rare, but drivers have been pulled and fined (usually elderly) for driving too slowly after creating a queue of pi55ed-off drivers.
