My lodger is applying for TVP (should be filling in the form now). TVP seem to want a number of older (perhaps more experienced) applicants

Is there any advice you can offer - stuff he could prepare for etc (assuming he gets accepted)? I think he has the fitness down fine but any of the learning stuff...

I am off work at the mo. But I have several colleagues who are ex-TVP. There's a clue!
If you don't receive any info, I'll keep an eye on this forum, and refer the question to them when I return shortly.

I am slowly moving closer!
Only a stones throw away and the way the politics are over the border, it may not be too long! Need any RPD skippers?

Not at all, but a lot are crossing over. I have a friend who works in a police staff role in the Met. Whilst the Met are recruiting and she wants to join as an Officer, she has decided to apply to BTP - as she won't have to wait so long!!? For some reason she will have to wait a long time to get into the Met?!

When i joined TVP, metpol had over a 2 year wait to start training, and that was after you had been accepted.
So potentially a 1 year app process and a 2 year wait from there which is why alot joined TVP and transfered as in those 3 years you can be response trained, moe, etc etc etc rather than looking at books to learn law!

Oh and the money helps as well i guess.

I like TVP at the mo though so not transfering unless they allow me to transfer into a specialist role in metpol direct from shift rather than waiting to board in TVP.

Always do need them........Neil seems to be enjoying himself (most days anyway) and now hes all sorted, the extra travel for pounds paid is well worth it.

We have a Skipper from TVP.......he knew Neil so he would prob know you too.
