As they were occasionnaly forced to let some people get away because they hadn't enough power under the bonnet, the police is very proud to announce they have been given 2 millions Euros for the acquisition of 73 Imprezas WRX dispatched all around France, especially on the motorways. Those Imprezas are said to be able to reach 150mph even with five people inside the car.
The gendarmes who drive them have been trained at Le Mans with intensive driving lessons.

This is an old article in french, when the vehicle was presented to the government, just for you to see how the cars look like. The special production of those 73 Imprezas has started in march, and they have started to appear all around France during april, so beware !

To my disgust they made a big deal in the french press about how these Scoobys were specially to catch Porsche drivers, as though we are the only ones likely to speed excessively!

Anyway, if their top end is only 150 then monsieur le plod wouldn't see me for dust...

Unlikely, if that was really the case they'd have to buy some fast cars

Bad move IME the Impreza suffers from heat soak and it drops onto its secondary map which means a drop of about 60bhp.. also they tend to launch, again due to lack of air on the I/C at high speeds as a pressure wave builds up and the air does not flow into the scoop it flows over... bang.

So, considering it was 40c+ last year at LeMans I dont think they will be chasing anyone in a hurry..
