At about 06h00 this morning they and their scamera wise guys managed to catch the most heinous of criminals. A criminal so bad it, the crime warrants an immediate double punishment followed by years of punitive punishment via insurance companies etc !!!!! I was one of 2 cars on the road, 40 zone changing to dual carriageway noational speed limit road when off went the flash. I was not even doing 50 indicated as I was accelerating towards the dual carriage way. Why oh why do the plods insist on scameras, surely it makes more sense to have plods out patrolling, however at thattime in the morning they are more than likely tucked up nicely in bed dreaming of their next Xmas bonus sponsored by UK drivers.

Horrendous, in fact it was so bad, I have no recollection of it ever happening, must say my body shop is excellent as well, as the damage is already repaired

Well, it will serve you right. AS you were speeding you no doubt killed at least 12 children.

Here we go again... SCP not police. different part of the system. Its also a speed camera so fixed site. So that means its always there.

We are on duty 24 hours a day and unlike you get no bonuses at christmas, the fines from cameras go back to cameras and the govenrment.

Personaly if you miss a yellow speed camera then your not paying attention. What else could you have missed?

As for bonuses I do not get them, a small point but had to be made. As for on duty 24hrs a day, that may be the case, but the funny thing is in the last month of using the following roads daily M23, M25,M3,A23,A27,M27,M271 I have not seen a single patrol vehicle on the roads, so maybe instead of bed, it is sitting in the station filling out forms. I do not have an issue with trying to ensure the safety of road users, but untill such time as I see ALL road users from pedestrians upwards being treated the same I will remain an avid anti scamera lobbyist. If as you say the scamera units are not part of the forces in the UK, howcome when I have had occasion to call scamera offices I ineviatbly ebd up speaking to a PC or WPC ? As for not paying attention I was fully aware of what was going on around me, however I believe that in the interests of road saftey spending the entire time behind the wheel looking at my speedo and in the air above the pavement actually makes me an unsafe driver, but hey speeding is such a mega crime that is exactly what is being advocated we all do.

Were you driving with your eyes shut past the bright yellow box? If there's no other traffic on the road then what were you distracted by that took your observation away from teh road and it's hazards?

Hard lines fella, just remember next time to check around you for "dangers" before giving teh fun-pedal a squirt.

PS It's not BiB that you should moan about, it's scamera pratnerships.

According to the news this morning, in the future you may well have to give a DNA sample, if some of the police get their way

So you didn't see the yellow box then?

If your driving and looking ahead you should be able to see said boxes, Its worth checking pavements people can step off them.

If you drive the road a lot then its even more important to pay attention as many accidents happen on roads your familiar with due to complacency.

SCP's have police working within them due to the RTA requirements however they are not the police. If it helps an officer I know is about to be disqualified from driving for passing a SCP in a van in a marked vehicle. He did see it just as usual a little late. Had you missed a van thats different they are often at the edge of your view.

Traffic Police with Laser = somewhat more discretion rolleyes that an SCP whose threshold is dictated effectively by the government ..... who in turn get all of the money not spent on cameras and more speed humps, etc.

because you were speeding you had 10% more crashes than you would have had if you were obeying the limit.

Must admit if he drives the route regularly then he should know where the fixed cameras are which make the fact he was caught even worse.

Personally I have always founf the Sussex Camera Partnership to be quite reasonable with their camera locations. In my home town we have a mobile site outside a school and the fixed camera is just after the speed limit turns from 30 to 40, rather than being just before it.

I regularly drive the M23 upto the M25, and although I don't often see marked cars, I regularly see unmarked ones having pulled people over.

Thankyou, Please please please when moaning about Scameras do not link them to the REAL police that work bloody hard trying to undo all the damage done by those little yellow Government boxes.

Moan about the Scamera partnership all you like, just don't use the word Police in the same sentance !!!!
Mr Rat, please be aware that, to the general public, they are indivisible. All SCP letters are on Police-headed paper, and everything is "on behalf of the CC". And the police are active partners in the partnership. If more police stood up against the SCP it would perhaps help correct the public (mis)perception.

Agreed, also Brunstrom is a policeman as is that other tosser in Yorkshire somewhere and don't tell me the police don't man Talivans either, I've seen em. But we do realise that, in the main, you are just doing what you are told to

If the above is true, why does the Chief Constables name appear on the NIP?
