Normally Toad posts are made in a friendly frame of mind and not intended to cause upset or offence.

Not this one.

My Brother has just called. He’s been scamera’d on the A449 outside of Kiddiminster.

They were yards into a NSL dual carriageway, camera-ing people at the last minute as they were going out of the 40 limit dual carriageway into the 70. (His Snooper didn’t go off.)

So yes, they have certainly caught my brother, and yes, he was technically over the 40 limit but now he will have to lose his career.

He went back to get photo’s of the location of the van but it being hidden behind a sign well into a 70 limit is no defence.

My point? I think my point is f**k the police, their stupid life ruining camera partnerships and their stupid brain dead apologists on this site. F**k the lot of 'em.

You can lose your career in this country for being a bit hasty accelerating into a 70. What would I get if nicked a bottle of Whiskey from Safeways? I’d get f**k all – a caution.

I was a little upset that someone used the word filth on this site earlier and scum yesterday. I thought it was overstepping the mark. They were right and I was wrong. The word sums it up.

As of today my real life attitude is going to mirror my Toad persona. F**k the lot of them. Outlaw is right.

What really f**ks me off is that for that 60 quid the government now have to fund my brothers unemployment! What f**King sense does that make. Currently he can house and feed himself and his wife + probably pay a trainee policeman out of his yearly tax. Now he’s going to be reliant on the state. What a f**king joke.

They whine that nobody likes them then chuck people out of their jobs and NEVER accept any relationship between the two.

I’m going to find a way to escalate this. I see no reason to take this lying down. It can’t be hard to find home addresses of this scum.

Edited to say the add: "Thanks for a cheerful Xmas you life ruining scum"

....And it's just occured to me this filth are creating people with nothing to lose.

How long before someone unbalanced really does kill some of this filth?

Prison would solve the problem of feeding and housing themselves.

He doesn't know. Depends how close to the NSL sign her was when the photo was taken.

If they got him anywhere near the sign it will be near 70. He'll say's he'll be banned for sure and he's not prone to exageration.

He's got photo's of the scene but they won't help.

How about going down the not signing the NIP route, or even just not returning the NIP at all - there's a fair chance that the picture wont positively ID him, so he's just left with 3 points & a fine....

I'm not a BIB, so your mileage may vary....

At the moment he's too shocked to think it through. I suggested taking the 3 points for refusal to ID but he's worried about commiting perjury.

Will give him the night to calm down and get back in touch.

sounds like he's got everything to gain and nothing to lose if he does go down the non signing route

Just hang on a while Toad - see if he gets a NIP. I went through one on the way back from Le Mans at well over the limit, and didn't get one.

If it was manned by TrafPols, I think they use their discretion - with any luck it was, and not one of the civilian ones.

And to be an automatic ban, your brother would have to have been doing more than 30 over the limit I think (unless I'm out of date), and he's unlikely to have been doing more than 70 if he was only just coming out of a 40. So it might not be as bad as you think.

Must admit I tend to stick to the posted limits right until the NSL sign nowadays, and always keep my eyes peeled near the transitions. Interestingly, I've not seen so much of the Northants vans just recently (famous last words - watch me get a letter tomorrow!)

If the van was inside the NSL and your Bro was still in the 40, technically where was the "offence" commited ? I know the vehicle was in the 40 but if the van was in the NSL then thats where the evidence was collected and the photo was taken. I think a good brief could argue that its where the camera was that the offence was commited, they could certainly cast doubt on the legalities.

Hmmmmm. That's a fair point. I assumed it would be bannable but I doubt he'd be far over 70 for th e70 so a bit less for the run up to the 70. Like most people who drive for a living these days he's a stickler for limits out of self preservation.

Was a civilian. Didn't like being photographed. Didn't like the site he was stationed in being photoraphed. Wouldn't tell bro if he'd been done or how many he'd done that day.

I also quietly take heart from the fact the snooped didn't go off.

Personally don't trust anyone involved with this type of machinery not to be sneaky, so the foot doesn't hit the carpet until the NSL sign is on my wing mirror.
Not a lot of use to your brother I know, but maybe a sobering thought for any one else reading.

A449 sends shivers down my spine. Its a spooky road.

First ever flash and subsequent points was had by me on the A449 outside Wolverhampton.

Second catch by mobile scamera was a couple of weeks later in Gwent, agsin on the A449 but about 150-200 miles apart.

It creeps up on you without you knowing. One minute your on a nice B road and next your on the dreaded A449.

Well let him take it up the chin (like a man) then

If the wording is carefully crafted, one might not need to commit perjury in such a case, though...

Mel: Bro was in DC 40 limit, Van was behind a big sign after the road switched to 70.

Apache: No he's ok for totting up. And if it's only three there are plenty of people in the family who would take them. I would. I *might* take the ban for him - I could rent out my house and move to nearer work for 6 months. I'd probably bottle that though.

Swilly: Yeah. My three were on the A449 in Wales.

Thanks for all the support. I posted the original post in a frenzy of sadness panic and anger.

As I'm calming down I'm begging to feel he's got options:

1) He may not have been in the ban zone cos 30mph is a big chunk of a ramping up to 70mph for the NSL's.
2) The fact his snooper was silent might mean they didn't get him.
3) If I *really* had to I *could* take the ban myself. Would *ruin* 6 months of my life though.
4) He could go the "refusing to identify" route.

Toad, stop this 'filth' crap now.

There are a number of police officers that contribute to this site and your terminology is not welcome.

I think a good breif could ask them to prove that he was within the 30mph limit and not in the NSL. Would be quite hard to prove where he was from the angle they normally get you.
