Spotted a few times over the past week, a rather proactive unmarked white BMW 3 series 4 door, seen patrolling from the Oxford end of the A34 down at least to the A303.

Spotted nearly every day this week pulling people over & yesterday seen "driving enthusiaticaly" through the SPECS zone & then pulling someone over. I did'nt say baiting but that would appear to be the case from what I've seen.

Out of interest, as it's an A34 thread, has anyone else spotted a GTR out patrolling the A34?

Saw it stopped pulled over a customer on the northbound carriageway several weeks ago when passing through

Gunmetal grey paint with minimalist battenburg - perhaps on lone from Nissan but if not they're in for a surprise when it has it's first minor bump...

As the SPECs system still records you details and speed,
woulnd't it be ironic if you could use the SPEC's evidence to prove that you weren't speeding?

I always thought a minimum requirement for un-marked cars would be having 4-doors, to put awkward perps in as required. That could be tricky in a coupe.... So they can use sports cars too eh?

Locals had a Civic Type-R as an ANPR car a few years back. And many more years earlier, XR3is and Astra GTEs...

It was a 968 CS, not a 928.

What would be more tricky, is fitting anyone who has limbs in the back of a GTR!

You could have a try but how would you do it?

Because the SPECS evidence is an average over a distance between the cameras you can do 150mph at the entry or the exit camera yet do a much lower speed for the majority of the measurement zone.

Hence your defence would fail.

It may be ironic but it simply doesn't form a defence.

Back in the good old days when plod was on a bike we didn't have all this trouble with innocent motorists being victimised.

....and we call this progress? rolleyes

Best wishes all,
Dave.

There's nothing in the post that gives the reason they were stopped.

At least it'll get used rather than just brought out for a couple of miles on a Sunday morning.

Used to generally piss the public off and be driven round like yobs on a joy ride.
