Comming up the M3 this morning, just past the M25 Junction, im in Lane 3, there is a Merc 500sl in front, and an X5 behind.
We start to pass other cars in lane 2 and 1, then Mr Merc driver slams the brakes on and swerves into lane 2, leaving me blocked in Lane 3. I accelerate past him ( aprox speed now 100mph ), Mr BMW dives behind the Merc, as we pass a Plod Volvo on the hard shoulder, all lights going, just parked there.
With nothing else to do, I pass the Merc, and continue my journey at aprox 80 - 90mph.

Im not followed by the police car, but given the fact im probably one of the unluckyest people on this bloody planet, I suspect I may have been caught. anyone know if its likely ?

I didnt get to see what the occupants of the Volvo were doing, so I have no way of knowing if they were there with a lazer or just having a quiet doughnut and reading policemans weekly?

Time to watch the letterbox for the dreaded NIP ??

Think you'll be OK - to do you they at the very least need to accurately guage your speed to be able to prosecute. If they were busy on the hard shoulder, you were probably not even a consideration at 100 MPH.

Should be fine, they probably stopped to help someone or pick something up off the hard shoulder and had the lights on as a warning that they were there.
