would you say it's worse than booze? I'd say less so from what I have seen although I often dont know who is drunk and who is also on coke as I don't really ask them!
When you have run a pub, been a doorman and delt with 1000's of people over 25 years you will find the problem is that many who take it have taken drink and other substances as well.Booze, coke and weed taken altogether in the one night is very common. Trust me they don't mix too well.
There are many who get tanked up on booze before they go out, have a couple of joints, take an E or three before going into a club, then a few snorts in the toilets all washed down with alcho pops full of all sorts of ste.
and this is where I leave the discusion, because those who do drugs and those who enjoy that lifestyle assume everyone either does it and admits it, does it and doesnt admit it, or lives in a monastary. There is no inbetween.
And therefore you simply cant get through to them that what they do isnt normal, does affect people both directly and indirectly, and makes them a bit of a cock.
So, as they say, "I'm out"

You can spot the ones who have been doing it among the other drunkards in the A&E waiting room as they are uber aggressive, shouting at other patients, other staff and almost certainly they've been in a fight (usually with the bouncer).
Alternatively, it's the random middle aged bloke who has "done a bit of charlie", consequently had some chest pain and come immediately to A&E worried they're having a heart attack (which is possible - makes the blood vessels supplying the heart itself spasm thus cutting off the blood supply).

Footballers?
Very few I'd suggest. They are routinely tested for it, and of hand the last Prem player I recall being busted for coke was Mark Bosnich and that must be ten years ago.
What about Mutu? Our old secretary was shagging a Premiership footballer recently. She was telling me they were snorting coke in his flat.Very few I'd suggest. I say find the dealers, and kill them.
Why? I doubt you know anyone who has been kidnapped and forced to take it. It isn't even that addictive. And, no doubt, while demand remains others will be happy to supply. So you cannot 'win'.Its really really sad to see kids of around 13 buying bicarb off a dealer and thinking they are getting a wrap of Coke.
Its even worse to see them 6 months later when they find someone that will deal them actual coke ( or some percentage of the cut), some dealers really are gutter level low lifes.
The problem with it is that it can lead on to washing it up (with ammonia or bicarb) into crack, then they need heroin to deal with the crack come down ( as suggested by their cross selling dealer), then its heroin only, then its the abyss.
Coke is a very stty drug which is way to abundantly available in the UK nowadays.
ps. Most dealers arent driving Bentlys etc, the top of the chain importers might, but the street level gangsta small fry tend to be riding mopeds, mountain bikes or a chavved up hatch back nowadays.

Sack any plod found to be indulging. The comparison with being caught doing 90 on a motorway is a facile strawman argument; there are no victims stemming from the offence, whereas funding the drug trade cannot be viewed as anything but bad. Then there's any physiological and mental changes that may occur while under the influence or as a consequence of regular use. I have the same thoughts about service personnel using, particularly while on duty. If you like taking drugs, find an alternative career.

Why is that plod still in a job? You've made yourself sound like a moron to me.
I have no idea - why do I sound like a moron for making an observation? I can't help it if someone is snorting coke in a pub toilet when I want to go to the toilet and I can't help noticing when i'm with people that they have white powder in their nostrils, go into toilets together and offer me coke!!i'm pointing out an observation - why am I a moron for noticing it?!!!

You must think a lot of people are morons if you choose to categorise every person who takes illegal drugs, as well as every person who knows someone that takes drugs as one. I mean sheesh, you must hang out with the Lord Jesus and Mother Theresa when you're at home.
I don't hang out with those two, but, as far as I know, neither of them took cocaine or would have thought there was anything laudable in so doing.Edited by Shay HTFC on Sunday 6th June 19:48
I do think a lot of people are morons. A lot of people are.
3 problems with taking drugs:
1. Funding the global drugs trade is a pretty stty thing to do with your money
2. When you are stoned, you might think you are cool, but the rest of the world thinks you're a tosser
3. You may not think it's doing you any harm, but by the time you realise that it is, it's too late
