Doubt it - until their practice is outlawed, then it will be hard to do anything about it. Blackmail in principle, but in practice not as they are unregulated so to a certain extent have the authority to do what they do - hence the lack of prosecution.

Sorry to sound harsh but I have experience of these cowboy clamper firms and its all bad. The British Parking Association is a total waste of time and the sooner clamping on private land is made illegal the better.

No doubt you will get some clampers respondng to this post saying: well dont park where you should not then!

I am not against issusing a penalty but that penalty needs to fit the crime.

I can honestly say that I wouldn't publicly admit to actually doing or planning anything of the sort

To be honest I'm surprised more cases don't turn violent. I bet these blackmailers would not dare target a car full of tall and well built men in the way they do single and vulnerable women.

Funny you mention that fella, I am getting a small group to go with me to get the car tomorrow if the allow me to pay (even though I will cancel it after I got the car) just in case anything happens as they have already threatened me physically

Well you'd have to be careful not to do anything too nasty. I wouldn't, for example, find the nearest fishing boat and request some fish guts, put them in a pot and leave them in a warm place for a week, then accidentally spill them into the air intake of the van that the clamping meat head like spending so much of his time sitting in. Especially when it is winter and he likes the heater on.
