Have any of you guys bought your car directly from the lease company when the lease expired ? mine expires in 12 months and I was tempted to keep it for the wife assuming the lease company (Lex) don't ask for main dealer money.
I tried.

The car was offered to trade and then the deal was I would pay the best price offered.

I can only guess someone lied to try and make more money or there was gold/cocaine/unobtanium hidden somewhere in the car.

find that taking a movie of the car's exterior and interior works and fits well under what is required for youtube, had one once try it on and told them would upload the movie to the site and let my bosses and the fleet manager know the link. it included the service history and for some reason they suggested that there would be no need to do so smile

Friends problem, can you help???

I returned a lease car about a month ago. It was inspected, and no problems were found by the guy picking it up. It was signed in 'good' condition and on the form where you can mark damage, nothing was flagged. He signed for the service book, the spare key and full service history.

Anyway, yesterday we got a demand for £871 for damage repair to the car for one thing I know was there on the door panel, which I accept, but then two more scratches which weren't there when collected, a 'soiled' roof panel (where I missed it with the sponge when I cleaned it), and then the service manual, spare key and service history being missing.

I've disputed the claim and sent the copies of the form where he signed for service history, manual and spare key (which they incidentally had sent me initially).

Anyone had a lease company try this with them? Are they just trying to pull a fast one and hope that we don't spot it so they get the Direct Debit claim?

We've cancelled that in preparation
You'll have no problem here.

Think about it:

When you received your car you signed to say it was in good condition, you had the manual, service history, and spare key.

What would have happened, practically and legally, if a whole month later *you claimed to them* the car was damaged before this time and you had none of the things you signed for?

They would have told you to get stuffed and probably laughed at you. You should do the same as there is no way whatsoever they will be able to claim a penny from you.

I returned a Nissan Navara 6 months ago back to the lease company. They attempted to claim £1450.00 because the loading area of the truck was scratched and it absolutely was scratched to bits as it's a pick up truck. I refused to pay claiming the vehicle was purely used for the purpose of which a vehicle like that would be used. Ended up in court with the judge laughing them out the door!

Lease companies are definitel starting to take the mick. We used to be able to extend the leases for a year or so at a much lower rate if it suited us, now they aren't interested.

Another reason why we're moving away from leasing.
