Indeed, a freebie from Lotus, nice publicity for them already!

And Angus the overbite back on TV too.

Wow thats really practical.
It's extremely practical as a PR stunt.

Some excellent responses on the Daily Wail thread from indignant posters about money being wasted. Posters who quite obviously haven't read the fact it's been loaned by Lotus for two weeks, as publicity.

As an interceptor type vehicle it is brilliant, and couldn't be any more efficient especially with the Lotus add lightness philosophy.

Yes, of course... It is obviously a real police car as it has all the space to carry cones, signs, road lights, first aid kit, stinger, shovel, broom and blankets, as well as a shed load of extra batteries to power all the computers that run ANPR, PNC and local CAD dissemination. The two seats in the back are also ideal for carrying the two enourmous kit bags that each officer will have with them, as well as transporting prisoners. In fact you can see the two ANPR camera's clearly mounted on the roof of the Lotus.

Yes, couldn't be more efficient.

Yes, it's a loan being donated by Lotus for two weeks. At no cost to the tax payer.

I'm guessing from the prominent Wood Way sticker that they have fitted the EWE for nowt as well.

They should use articles such as the Mail one as an impromptu IQ test - if you read the article and still post garbage like "waste of taxpayers money", "times are hard - not", "everyone cutting back we are all in this together" then you have failed the IQ test. Badly.

The comments are hilarious.

One pster moans about the cost of such a car (despite it being on loan), then says they should use helicopters. Yeah, that's more cost effective, isn't it!!

It's the wrong message regardless of cost to the tax payer .Making derogatory remarks against people that have an opposing view to yourself is not that bright either.

Why? What message?

I think KK was suggesting that the complainers in the DM thread haven't realised it's "no cost", and think CMPG have actually bought it, or that using a helicopter is somehow cheaper.

...and suggesting that making derogatory remarks against someone with a different point of view "is not that bright" is a little bit like making a derogatory remark against people that have an opp... Oh, hang on...

Except it's not an 'opposing view', is it? It's a knee-jerk reaction?

They're 'opposng' it becauase they think they've bought it, which isn't the case. Therefore, they're fking idiots.

yes

Every fking time they do this, 20,000 st-for-brains tin hat wearing bafoons cant wait to launch themselves onto the net with an opinion on what a waste of tax payers money it is or why their choice for patrol car would be better.

I'd have though the Mail would have realised by now that they could sack all their "journalists" and just write the word tt continuously for the bulk of the story. And none of their readers would notice. Picture and sensationalist bks headline, what more do you need?
