Bike Plod stopped an Audi TT today on the A414 dog-bone roundabout near Hatfield today and caused a 2 mile tailback...
Errrm, there isn't a two mile stretch of road either side of the 'dog bone'* without hitting either the London Colney roundabout (northbound) or the A1 roundabout (southbound). Still, never let the facts get in the way of a bad story eh?

  • 1.7 miles London Colney roundabout to the middle of the 'dog bone', 1.6 miles from the A1 roundabout. I know, I know.... getmecoat

I was in an unmarked car one evening when we came across a car being driven on the motorway at in excess of 100mph, undertaking slower cars, and generally driving very poorly.

Having paced the vehicle for a mile or so and video recorded the driving, we slotted in behind him in lane 3 (outside) and put on the concealed blues to signal for him to pull over so that we might deal with him.

He just stopped. In the outside lane of the motorway. As it turned out, we were just in a dip as well, so practically invisible to oncoming vehicles until they were within 400 yards or so.

I suppose that was our stupid fault as well?

I would think so, but I'm sure the OP would say otherwise.

And we're back to the conclusion of the roundabout thread, most drivers on the road these days are unbelievable idiots.

Missed the smiley did we?

A pedant I may be but better that than an ignorant cocknocker possessing limited comprehension skills and the vocabulary of something curled out onto the pavement by my granny's dog.

Oh, here's another smiley wink so you know that I don't really think you're an ignorant cocknocker possessing limited comprehension skills and the vocabulary of something curled out onto the pavement by my granny's dog.
