A vague question but can I ask what you think is a reasonable price for an average condition C5 Z06?

Suitably vague answers are accepted smile
I sold mine for £26k back in 2005 but Yank cars traditionally depreciate very slowly.
I would imagine your issue will be finding one but they can probably still command around £20k.
My 2005 Mustang with mods is still worth around that. Much depends on condition and mileage of course but you are more likely to find a normal C5 but even those tend to be autos more than manuals.

Would love a z06 c5 and love the looks. Don’t think I’ve seen one for sale in the U.K. though.

This thread needs some pics. Did a mate a favour and took him to his wedding last year

Had this Z06 for 15 years (so far).

Had mine 12 years, and it has been a pleasure to own, and very easy to maintain, for its performance. Only issue with the C5Z is there is not much choice on tyres, particularly fronts with none of the top brands available over here.

Wow
Those 2 look amazing.

If any C5 owner based in the South of England would be willing to show me over their car and generally put up with me asking obvious questions for an hour id happily hand over a crate of beer. biggrin
Likewise, if anyone reading this is thinking of selling between now and December please let me know.
Since posting this ive decided im interested in any manual C5. Z06 preferred but only if the price is right.

I've a manual C5 (non Z06) and am based just off the M25 near Dartford, happy to show you round mine? It's not stock but not far away so you'll have a good idea on what to look for.

Well travelled - different continents, different lights... about twenty states and ten countries. Will be in Le Mans in a couple weeks

How have your cars been for reliability?

I imported the car in 2004 with 12k miles, now on 63k. The only issue was the abs module threw a warning light in 2007. Apparently It's a common fault with the Bosch unit on lots of cars that have it. I sent it to a guy who replaced a faulty diode and it's been fine since. Apparently it's always the same diode that goes as it needed to be beefier. Apart from that it's been utterly reliable.

That's quite a testimony!

Since new (38000 miles and 16 years) it’s just had a recall in 2005 for the ignition switch, and a door lock actuator stopped working. Other than that nothing’s ever gone wrong. Very simple servicing too - fluids and filters that’s it.

Average of 23 mpg too.

Pretty faultless, any issues I've had have been easily diagnosed with the DIC which let's you pull fault codes and a quick Google will find the answer. Because they're so common in the US Pretty much every issue has been covered and you can usually do it yourself if you can follow a YouTube video :-)

Needed to do the crank pulley in mine (local garage took care), and a new battery so far in nearly 3 years is it. Just found out I need to replace the multi function switch but again took 5 mins to Google the issue and resolve.

PS PM sent!
