Has anyone continued using the US red rear indicators.
My c6 is a U.K. spec so has the awful orange rear lenses.
I still use the US rear lights. Since importing last year I used the Radio Flyer switchback bulbs that flash yellow through the red lenses, however the red light is so bright it looks like I have my rear fogs on! Therefore I have just fitted four of these into the US red lenses https://cartown.se/index.php?route=product/product...My c6 is a U.K. spec so has the awful orange rear lenses.
These LED plates are glued in place and flash yellow through the red glass. I will take some photos shortly once the car is back on the road.

ref yellow c7 being advertised by two sellers,i had this when i drove up to evesham in may 2017 to view a yellow us spec one,it was being touted by 2 dealers and the owner, passed on it and bought yellow one from castle motors in liskeard, C7 values are set to rise as no more euro spec cars allowed into europe due to emmissions ban and the C8 reportedly starting at well over £100k not out in europe for another 18 months
Spookily/Coincidentally!! - A couple of weeks ago, I put the details of a late UK spec C7 into WeBuyAnyCar, just to see how low a price they would quote. Today, have received an email from them saying that the price has gone "up" by a grand. Or is that just the "normal" WBAC modus operandi/way of doing business? Just an update, I bought a new corvette, very happy with my purchase and she is looking awesome every time I take a look at her!
Congratulations - what spec did you go for? Now in a Mustang, but had a C5 and C6 from new and it's impossible to look at them without smiling JONSCZ said:
Not sure if you read the really useful link in the post by Peter (Silver C6) above.
The reality is that once shipping, tax and IVA are taken into account, the UK price is the same figure as US price then add 5%. eg US price = $40k, so UK price would be around £40k + 5% = £42k.
There are probably bargains to be had - as the owner of the imported low mileage C7 GS as mentioned above will testify, but the exchange rate is no longer in our favour.
If you do import, then make sure you get a Carfax report. It's like our HPI check.
Good luck with your search.
You are correct WRT the pricing - however, that's not quite the whole picture. What buying from the US will do is allow for a far wider pool of cars and specs to choose from which could tilt the balance towards an importThe reality is that once shipping, tax and IVA are taken into account, the UK price is the same figure as US price then add 5%. eg US price = $40k, so UK price would be around £40k + 5% = £42k.

The $Price + 5% = £Price to your door calculation does work, but only at a specific "price point" on more expensive cars. The "+% decreases inversely with the price of the car, due to the "fixed cost" elements. e.g. shipping (exc. insurance) is the same for a $100k car as it is for a $50k car.
For the ("cheaper") $49k car I was looking at a few months ago, the "+%" was 10% (i.e. £53/54k final cost in UK).

rpc4321, I take it that yours was the Red Coupe that is mentioned in this write up, that sold before the review.
Nice article by Autocar, too -

I agree with the sentiment in the review from the reader of the magazine, that "he didn’t realise driving fast was a qualification to be a car enthusiast".
I love driving my GS at legal speeds - it's a real sense of occasion every time I go out in it. (and like many Corvette owners, I'm LONG past my 'boy racer' days'...!)
