The factor here is how big are the biker's cojones!

I pushed a Kwacker Ninja for twenty miles or so at well over 120. Every time we got held up and dragged down to 70, he'd crank it open and I'd put the hammer down and we pretty much maintained station. But all the time I was thinking "I hope he can ride that thing as I don't want to be running over him" and he was no doubt thinking the same.

I've been riding bikes for years and over that time I have seen some very unpleasent things, including a guy ripping his arm off at the shoulder on a crash barrier post. Bikes are dangerous and due to the rise in there popularity, now more than ever many are being ridden by people that don't really know what they are doing. Now that even the smaller bikes are making so much power, it only takes 1 mistake and a bit of bad luck.

Though given the speeds some of us drive, its not going to make the blindest bit of difference if you are in a car or on a bike. If you are in a car, you may get crushed, trapped etc. On a bike you may get thrown clear or into something. Guess it depends if your times up or not.

Happy Christmas

My mates 300zx Is 4WS for sure, not too sure if it is 4wd on not. Perhaps the 3000GT we were talking about had similar wear to my mates 300Zx. That would cause poor cornering.

Hello from the tiv corner

AFAIK the 300zx twin turbo had a passive type rear wheel steering called Super HICAS allowing a movement of +/- 1.5 degrees for each rear wheel.

BTW the threads on this forum make very interesting reading, sounds like there are some seriously fast Vettes knocking around

Hope to meet some of you at Pistonfest for a and a good

Merry Christmas...all the best for 2004

Back in the dim distant past I rode bikes a lot, then came the girlfriends who were not bike friendly so I changed to four wheels. The last bike I owned was a new (1970/71 ish) Triumph Trident, the last bike I rode was a Katana (?) Suzuki in around 89 or so, yes I know I am an old fart! A couple of months ago a good friend of mine, now a born again biker having not ridden for a lot of years, brought round his new (2003) Triumph Daytona, bloody hell what a difference! I know this bike is not the quickest thing on the street these days but i was dead impressed, it also brought it home to me that my yearning for two wheels every spring was misplaced. Given the sheer weight of traffic and the very aggressive drivine habits these days i will stick to four wheels and watch in admiration as todays two wheel Gladiators do battle with the overcrouded roads!

Too right. I used to have a Gold Wing eons ago and went back to biking in 1995 after I sat on a CBR1000 and couldn't believe how well balanced the bike was. I'm sure the new stuff is even better. But someone nicked the CBR and to be honest, it was a PITA getting kitted up just to go down the shops and the advantages were actually very few.

4 wheels good...2 wheels bad!

(to re-word a George Orwell quote)

I am dangerous enough on 4 wheels.....

I know what you mean and to think that I used to ride in just jeans and t-shirt. They say most accidents happen within a couple of miles of your house though, as I found out last year. My wife's bike wouldn't start then once I got it running I straight away took it round the block to warm the engine a bit. Jeans and jumper is all I had on and down I went on some ice. Ouch !! Now I have a nice reminder on my left arm and a f**ked left knee to go with a chipped right elbow from a high side a few years back(that time I had all the gear on - much more sensible).

I thought the whole point of being a biker was to dress like one of the Village People?

Or am I missing something here?

More like a 'Power Ranger'!!,,i think every bike should come equipped with heat seeking missiles with every missile emblazoned with the words 'sorry i didnt see you'.

Welcome MOD500, and a happy New Year.
Yes, some are serious, some are fast and some are both, and not just Corvette owners either!
Then there's some others, but we won't talk about them.
Not sure I can make it but when is PistonFest please?
Just in case.

If I remember correctly although Pistonfest is at Shakey there isn't an RWYB. Good job too as cars vs. bikes over that distance is a no-brainer for the bikes !
