Answer: No, nothing sorted that I am aware of.

Well it looks like the 17th is a non starter, due to the clash between the AACUK and AACI.

Geoff can you suggest another free w/end???. How's the 24/25th looking?

"Dyno day" is May 1st and yes we do have a rolling road dyno at the shop. It is MSA approved for power testing and is therefor very accurate. So come and have some fun and do a little bench racing!

Oh, how do I add a couple of hundred horsepower fast..............suppose the only answer is to cough up a few thousand quid???. That's me doomed.

Don't think my stock '93 LT1 will fair too well running against some of you 'big boys'. I'll have to make do with the puzzled face of BMW M3 drivers as I pass them.

I'll be there. Who else is up for May 1st???

Wayne - I'm not telling you it's THE way to go but have you thought of spraying a little laughing gas? For quite a bit less than opening up the motor you give yourself a fair amount of GO but you'd have to watch the engine and also fight the addiction too.

Mmmmm, think I'd end up using more nitrous than fuel!!. I've not been very good at self control since I got the 93, can't see things getting any better if I add even more umph!

Seriously, used sensibly how much hp can you gain this way, without overstressing the engine too much??

What king of price are you looking at for a full setup??

Cheers

Yes, power is so damn addictive.
I am not knowledgeable enough on this to say whether you should use a 50 hp shot or a 250 hp shot. I do know that the amount you intend to use will determine the degree of preventative/protective measures you will have to take with the motor. I would recommend that you talk to Geoff Jeal, his advice at least is free, and/or any other reputable techie you know of for specific advice. I know of a few blown motors because of juice abuse but they were LT5's and at least one of the individuals didn't listen to Geoff's advice!

I will put my "Black Museum " on show for May 1st. This includes a nice display of LT1 and LT4 pistons that have been subjected to Nos at various levels. I think it may scare a few people that are running high levels of Nos and educate those who think it is a cheap sorce of HP.

Sooo... is your advice not to use spray, I don't think so?
If so, Wayne's questions are valid.
Or, are you saying not to use spray whatsoever until you have strengthened the engine?
(I know we've had this conversation before but this is for others.)

Same effect, increased cylinder pressure + hyperutectic pistons = broken engine.

Think I'll stick to proper engine mods!

Have been looking at the ATI and Vortech Supercharger kits for the LT1, anyone have any experience of these?

What knd of price would I be looking at for some basic engine work, ported heads, roller rockers and a better/bigger cam??. I've done too much swearing over my C3's, couldn't take the pain of tackling any more!!

I am sure blackzr will be able to help you!

I used him to do my ATI Intercooled Supercharger on my LT4 a few years ago. There are a number of things to consider when doing this.

1. Don't believe you can just bolt the kit on to your LT1 and it will work 'cos in my experience it won't.
2. You will need to be prepared to include the cost of rebuilding your engine to cope with the increased horsepower.
3. You will need a new and more powerful clutch.
4. You will need to upgraded your brakes to stop the rip snorting beast that your car will become.
5. You will need to upgrade your fuel delivery system (i.e. injectors) to cope with the insatiable demands of your new engine.
6. You will need replace the Opti-Spark as they are shite.

Finally, You will have a permanent fixed grin like a cheshire cat everytime you start the car and pull away.

Oh, and finally you will need a steady supply of new tyres!

We have done eight or nine of these installations + 2 C3's and Mr Vetteheadracer (commonly known as "head") is absolutely correct.

Please feel free to email my privately if you would like more info on engine spec, etc.
