I still get the odd death threat regarding some of my cyclist rants.
But I am Señor Coolio nowadays.

Did the new forum fix that bug too? Must admit I do so miss being told I can't post something because someone doesn't like it because they're almost certain that someone else, somewhere, whom they've never ever met and is highly unlikely to read BC might be offended by it. Those were the days......
No that bug remains but is less evident as the problems with the new site are making all the headlines. No doubt when things calm down I'll say something untoward about cats cycling the wrong way up a NHS department and that'll be my lot. Edited by Crossflow Kid on Monday 20th October 13:35
When you say "pleasant and helpful" you mean "posts nothing more than links to other sites and stories without any hint as to their relevance, leaving the reader to figure out why a link has been posted"? Thought it was BlatChat, not Blatipedia.
Must admit I grew pretty weary of thread after thread of just a link, and the "thanks, J********" tagged on the end.
Thanks for what?

Guy's whatever happened on blatchat is neither here nor there as far as we at PH are concerned. So as the saying goes what happened on blatchat (personalities, gripes, arguments, etc etc.) stays on Blatchat, we do not want it here.
Feel free to use the forum and enjoy PH to it's fullest, stray from that at your peril.

So it's neither here nor there but it's here enough to not be allowed and we can use PH to it's fullest as long as that's not too full?
Thanks for clearing that up.
In a nutshell yes, you can post, chat and discuss to your hearts content, as long as the rules of posting are adhered to. Thanks for clearing that up.

I am a blatchatter and part of the club due mainly to saving a bit on insurance. I can't get the new forum to work and in fairness haven't put much effort into it.
Definitely a bit of a clique on there with some literally spending their lives posting. Went to a club meet once which was err...interesting.

The Dorset Sevens Club meet was last night, another brilliant evening spent chatting in the Weld Arms with a wide range of people from different backgrounds but a love of Sevens at their heart.
I can only speak from my experience but I was made to feel welcome and part of the group from day one, I've met some cracking people and have a real laugh when we meet up in the pub or on a blat.
Try a club meet again, I can't recommend it enough!

I'm certainly not bringing arguments over here - just reflecting on the reasons why a once entertaining forum is dying on it's arse.
On of my reprimands was for using the persona "I reply to every thread" and replying to every thread on the first page. This was said to be a personal attack on another club member (who replies to every thread). So I'm reprimanded for doing what he does on a daily basis the annoys other people. I didn't name him. They identified him themselves.
The other was for "Google Twit". I posted a "helpful" (google) link on every post on the first page or to a previous discussion on said website. No names mentioned but again a personal attack on another member who they managed to identify just from the nature of my posting. Why not deal with the Wallies? Being rude or abrupt isn't the only way of spoiling someones enjoyment of a forum and BC didn't have an ignore button

The double standards are/were staggering.
And that's before we get on to the relentless slagging off of BT, British Airways, Demon Tweeks and other companies deemed "big" enough not to worry, care or even notice what was being said about them, - even posting CEO's personal contact details including home addresses on occasions - whilst smaller industries involving people known to club members on first name terms were, apparently, bulletproof despite providing far more questionable service.
My gripe is the stuff of legend on BC (or a bad smell depending on one's PoV) and yet like you, I got told to wind my neck in for doing exactly what other people were doing - using their once-only dealings with a supplier in reply to any enquiries regarding said supplier, the difference being my view wasn't a positive one.

Imagine the horror if Google twit and I reply to every thread morphed into one.
