Full cage supply / fitting (and other questions)
Discussion
No, the cage makes the sill shorter by 2" I found getting in through the top easiest though this is made much harder by any foam padding on the bars. If your car is painted, getting in and out of the sides destroys the paint on the curved edge of the side panel by the rear wheelarch.
When it rains, any kind of coat makes side entry a huge challenge also.
Of course if you are a stick insect this wont be a problem, but if you are much horth of 85-90kgs you will wish the Roadsports cage further.
The SLR type cages are much bigger.

Hi,
I wondered what peoples' thought were on having full cage fitted to a car which already has a standard rollbar fitted.

- Recommendations for where to go?
- Is there a full cage which goes with a windscreen?
- Is there a wet weather kit / full cage combo available?
If you're in Glasgow at any point you're welcome to try my ex Academy car with full cage if it's any help.
Cheers

I have both.... an FIA bar and a roadsport cage. The cage does make getting in the car harder and out a bit harder.
Saying that life is easier if you put both feet in first and slide your way in and getting out is easier if you get one leg out and use the front strut to help swing ones arse out with. I'm also north of 95kg and pretty short.

Thanks Richy. Looks unlikely now that I'll be in a position to make a purchase before the start of the season so I'll maybe take you up on the offer at one of the early events. If you're in Glasgow at any point you're welcome to try my ex Academy car with full cage if it's any help.

Thanks to everyone else for the other replies too.
