Indeed, hence every de-dion axle car in the 100+ strong race club I compete in runs racey F6Rs / RS-14s in the front and comparatively mild 1144s in the rear. Even with this setup I default to one click forward on brake bias.
I run RS15s in the front (AP4 pot calipers, floating discs) and RS14s in the rear (AP2 pot calipers, solid discs) (w/ AP 13/16" m/c), with the bias set towards the front. The fronts will lock marginally before the rears. On the roads, you need to LFB a tad for a while when setting off and after a long run without using the brakes to get *some* heat into them before you need them though.Order66 said:
My 620R also eats the rears (compared to the fronts). It definitely works them hard. That does seem like very short life for 2 track days. For comparison I did 3 days at Spa last month and that used about 50% of a set of DS3000s.
That's not unusual. Rears wear fast. Fronts last forever. I always carry a spare set of rear pads for this reason. Also, check the rears regularly as they wear unevenly- the inner pads usually wear faster than the outer ones too...REALIST123 said:
Surely it's the higher rate of wear that is causing the increased heat?
