Just thought I would update this to say that the winter re-fresh has now started. Time for a little TLC.

The plan is also to fit a light weight flywheel, LSD and some verniers, and then to get the car on a rolling road and maybe a Kmaps re-map.

We will see if that is worth doing or a waste of time and money next season lol!!

Titan LSD, TTV light weight flywheel and DVA verniers now fitted. Timing done.
Foam sump baffle removed and sump “shelf” drilled as recommended by Dave Andrews to allow oil to flow more easily back in to the sump.
Aluminium tonneau cover fitted on passenger side to hopefully help smooth airflow a bit.
New brake pads about to go in
All cleaned and some bodywork paint tidied up.
Looking forward to the new season.

Thanks, it was an enjoyable but challenging day with a couple of electrical problems to sort. One broken electrical connector which stopped the car on track and took ages to find and later, an intermittent misfire.

Not sure what caused the misfire but we did also have a dodgy connection on the water temp sender which meant the water temp reading dropped to zero sometimes. I dont know whether this correlated to the misfire times as didn't think to look at water temp on track when it was happening. Does the EU3 ecu take a water temp input?

The car did feel different. Far Quicker to pick up power on corner exit and the rear did feel slightly more lively (LSD?).

The other thing i noticed was the oil pressure. I have previously reported low oil pressure in right handers. Down to about 11-13 psi at Hollywood (Donington’s second corner) and lower in hairpins such as on the GP circuit. This track day was on the National circuit so no hairpins and the lowest oil pressure noted was about 27psi at Hollywood. I think that Dave Andrews recomended mod to “shelf” in the sump is worthwhile.

Hello andy97.

I was at Donny last week - in the Blue and Orange Caterham. I hope you get the issues sorted with the Mega.

The last run was trouble free (apart from a prat in a 968 who appeared to think he was Micheal Schumacher at his aggressive worst).
I think we just had some teething troubles after the engine out winter work. Nothing too much to worry about, I think. And the car felt good, picked up power more quickly out of the corners and handled well with the LSD.
