Tyre choice for winter track days (13’’)
Discussion
For 6 and 8 setup on a Superlight, I think you will find most people are running Kumho v70s in dry and wet, hard compound for dry and soft or super soft compound for the wet.
There is more choice in the dry; ZZR and 888s are very good i think, probably comparable to Kumhos. I have done more running on 888s and rate those as well; good optimum grip and hold on well which is important for a 40 min race.
For the wet, Kumho in a soft compound wipes the floor with ZZS (which are crap btw).
I would stick to Kumho dry and wet; one setup and you get used to the feel and sidewall characteristics.
