Hello,

i am searching for spareparts for the Mike Barnby Wheels build for the Superlight Caterham.
Does anyone know where to get rims for them beside from MB-Wheels ?

I have tried a few times, in fact 1 year till now, to contact with MB but unfortunally no answers typephone

I am from germany and so it is not easy to get more information.

Thanks for any help

MB is notoriously unreliable, to the point where I sold my last set of MB's rather than have to deal with him again. MB rims often pop up on the lotus 7 club forum or you could place a wanted add if youre a memeber. You might also try speaking to Image wheels to see if their rims will fit, or if they'll make you a set with a suitable PCD (bolt pattern).

okay, yes i search for used wheels on the web, but there are no offers.
So image wheels have the same rims? that would be great, i will try to talk to them.

Image are a UK manufacturer of split rim wheels. The PCD of the rim attatching bolts may be the same. I'm not at home right now to compare my image and MB rims. Image are helpful tell them what youre after and they may be able to help, it might not be the first time theyve been asked this question wink .

Also, as much as I hate Facebook there are a couple of user groups on there for caterhams and parts of them. it would be worthwhile posting a wanted add on them as people do hoard the rims to change wheel widths and also in case they bend one.

If you go to the Sevens & Classics (Brands Hatch) web site, they have a full set of MB wheels for sale.

Can't see MB wheels on their site.
If you are talking about these ones (link below) they are not MB wheels - they are SLR wheels make by KN.

Also - Caterhamburger, it's a shame you are having trouble with him (and I know plenty of others have had similar experiences) but I have dealt with him a few times and never had a problem speaking to him.
Always call him, never email!

If you are a member of the L7Club UK, might be worth putting a wanted advert on the forum.

Cheers

By contrast, around a year ago, I emailed a request for a quote for a couple of replacement rims. Within 24 hours, I'd had a reply. I made a payment by BACS , and my new rims arrived a few days later.
