Has anyone ever heard of an early S3 1986 with a lowered floor mod?

I am sure this has been done many times over the years . The seats from this period were mounted onto steel straps between the chassis rails so no weight transferred to the ally floor.

I know Bruce at Arch Motors will do it but they will probably not have in stock as both the floor pan and the straps will need changing and the volumes will be very low. More modern 7s have the seats bolted through the floor with reinforcing ally frames so the floor takes weight so the floor pan must be rivetted in with steel pop rivets. Not so with the earlier chassis.

I am in the process of making up some rear floor sections out of 1.2mm ally sheet and extending the straps to drop the rear of the cockpit by 50 mm as bespoke seats sit a bit too high to make anything over 2 hours driving comfortable.

I spoke with Bruce on the phone and they make us a set that should allow the more modern seats to bolt straight on the floor.
