Good luck, Something i've been considering for a couple of years - tho i'm not sure weither i'll go through the academy or head straight into the (super)grads/Roadsports

No doubt i shall see you at the first round at Aintree next spring, and then again at Harewood

I'm looking for a supergrads car for next season. I considered the Academy but I'm not bothered about sprints and a friend is in the supergrads already.

Can't wait

Charlie Hunts car is for sale on this very site!!!
possibly championship winning and well priced. Apart from that there are a couple on blatchat, ex 2005 academy cars, both clean that I know of. Plenty around at about 5k less than the academy fee.

Enjoy! I did it in 2002 and it was one of the best year's of my life. Did Roadsports B in 2003 then sold my car (to Charlie, as it happens, though it's not the one he has now). I should have kept it rather than buy the nail I then bought, though fatherhood would have brought an end to proceedings shortly afterwards anyway.

It'll be one of the best years of your life! You can't match the Academy "we're all novices in it together" spirit.

I did the academy 2005 and now race in Super-Grads

Townrow, do you need space to store or build your car? I can sort you out storage or workshop space, see my profile/website (plus race transport, car set up etc etc)

Bill, have you tried contacting Charlie through the Grads site www.graduates.org

townrow - i'm doing the academy this year and it's fantastic (although my performance so far is far from so )

sprints are an excellent way to get to know everyone and get used to the scrutineering/practice/get there on time with all your kit stuff. our first 'race' is at combe on bank holiday monday if you fancy a chat with this year's crowd.

am i right in thinking the format is slightly different next year? one less sprint but a slalom/handling day thrown in?

i'm in SW london and rent a garage space for £20 a week - got the factory to build mine due to lack of space/skill/time.

anyway, best of luck - you'll have a fantastic time - but the wait 'till next spring when it kicks off will be agony!

Thank you for the offer - it looks like a great idea but it would take me an hour or more to get to you - so I would like to find something closer to home.

To add what i meant to to the above -

Yes your right about the format - we lose a spront for a car clinic day where they teach us car control and set ep etc. I'm sure it will be very useful to a complete novice like me!

The waiting - I only signed up 2 weeks ago and already i'm going crazy - I can imagine the releif when it's delivered followed by the panic of how I'm gonna build the thing....

Well, if you find a small single garage but still need somewhere to build it, give me a call. There's always a load of Caterham parts lying around if the factory forget to send something too

Yep... signed up for next year. Had an R400SV for the last year and loved it, but too nice to take on the track. Currently for sale to keep the better half happy. Hope to get the new kit in Oct. I'm hoping to complete build - time permitting. Can't wait!!!

Also going to one of the remaining events this year - may see you there.

I am away now for a couple of weeks so won't see any replies to post.

Best of luck!
