Quick question for anyone that has SVA'd their academy car this year - what year did you advise for the year of the engine manufacture, and did you have to prove it by way of letter from Caterham ?

You should have a certificate of newness. which covers all parts and shows it is all new parts. There is one or two recon parts in the whole kit which allows it to be registered as new. Give caterham a call and there tell you what to fill in.

Help with starting my Acadamy car.

I am trying to start the car for the first time but all i'm getting is clicks from the engine and ecu a feint but high pitched constant beeb (whissle) from something. I have been trying to trace noises and there seems to be a feint humm from the altinator.

I do have the enertia switch disconnected but the car wont even turn over and there is 5 ltrs of petrol in.

I would call Dartford but it's the weekend.

Also I have been told different amounts for initial engine fill is it 6.5ltr (this is what I have done at the moment).

cheers tel

FINISHED!!!!!

Well as finished as I can I've got a few wrong parts and few fixings missing but it goes for the PBC tomorrow morning so Caterham will have to sort these bits out. 92 hours total but 25+ spent searching for parts and scratching my head. SVA 13th March.

Thanks again to all those who replied to my build problems.

Racing this Sunday at Mallory park I believe i'm one of the only people not to have tested there yet. What I understand is that people have been there week after week honing thier skills.

I'm going to the trackday on saturday for my first tast of the circuit anyone else going to be there? or is that a silly question.

Anyone know what sort of lap times should be good around there?

low to mid 55's are what you should be aiming for.

A few academicals have hijacked the VW Audi day - hopefully there will be enought to have our own session and not embarass any RS4 owners.

I did read in Cicuit Driver that it was a V/W Audi day but they never mentioned anything when i called and booked.

Does this mean we may be turned away? if so should we go back to our youth and FIND (not steal) some V/W badges from somewhere?

Doesn't that bring back some memories, Beastie Boys, Run DMC etc, etc.

Showing my age now...

I think they are undersubcribed tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing a Caterham with 80's bling!
