Cars were using nothing special, same suspension you get when you buy the car.

When you buy the car you can spec either - I suspect that's why subirg asked the question.Most Caterham press cars I've come across have had all the bits fitted so I'm suprised their current ones don't.

The trackday/race dampers MUST be LOADS better, I mean Caterham say so and charge £1k for them!

When you look at the wide track suspension you will notice on the top of the damper there is an “extender” which is a fudge by CC to keep the same damper unit

I note on some Superlights using longer springs the extenders have been removed by company’s like Freestyle to improve the setup, the best option is a replacement damper

You can get suitable £400 dampers from CC, but they charge £1,000…only joking laugh

Ouch! - so the base price for the car (factory built) has already gone up by £1000 to £28,495. Fortunately, if you already have an order in at the initially quoted £27,495 Caterham are honouring that price. Which is nice.
