Hello All
I've been planning to upgrade my '94 deDion 1400K for many months now, and now have all the main parts to do the job; 1600K Supersport engine (mildly modded) with standard Supersport injection system, ECU and engine loom, all from late 90's EU2-based car.
I'm sure this is a well trodden path and forgive me if I'm asking numpty questions, but,
Is this a straightforward swop?
Will I need any other bits apart from those listed?
Any tricks?
Any previous threads that you can direct me to?
Any help very gratefully received
Thanks
Laurence

Have a search here too: www.blatchat.com

You may find the input shaft lengths on the gearbox are different. I swapped a 1600K for and 1800K VVC and had to grind about 10mm from the input shaft for it to fit in the gearbox.

Thanks Ewen
I'll take a close look at the input shaft bearing before I fit.
Any other likely problems anyone?
Cheers

Hello Mark
You say
"Do you have the immobilisor for the new ECU?, they're matched to each other"
This is the kind of statement that fills electronics techno-phobes like me with dread!
I have the factory-fitted immobiliser (rectangular slot in dash into which a plastic 'key' is inserted), used in conjunction with a standard 1400K ECU, fitted with Superchips piggy-back unit controlling a 1400K engine fitted with Supersport cams.
Am I going to have to change the immobiliser to suit the K1600 Supersport engine/ECU do you think? or can I just bypass the immobiliser? If so, how?
