“The other colour I was thinking of was that dayglo orange you see on DynoRod vans”………….
Well here it is….......a R400 built by Fred Mitchell, the spec is standard apart from the later fitted induction kit which is a bit more than CC are offering as standard now…….robbing bastards!!

Cheers! That isn't quite the colour I was meaning but I really like it. Excellent. Now, can anyone tell me exactly what colour it is so that I can tell Caterham. Now all that remains is whether to paint some/all of the wings or not but I'm nearly there! It's hard work this car buying business. Someone did mention a colour in an earlier post was wasn't totally confident they were talking about this one.

Yeah just tell Caterham you want Flouro Orange or Yellow, they'll know exactly what you're talking about. Beware though they're not usually very keen to do it, you might have to sign something to say there's no warrantee on the paint (cos it fades).
Cheers matey. Seems a bit over the top for a Caterham but I wonder whether one of those Zymol treatments or similar might help with the fading. Think it has to be unpainted rear and front wings - bugger - that means ticking another £1k box for carbon then - thanks for that!

Mines 3 years old now and the paints fine (given it's a track car). They use special UV protective lacquer to slow the fading. With most caterhams they spend most of their life in adarkened garage so the paint should last a good few years. The reason the dynarod vans fade so badly is because they're constantly in the sun and apparently they just use cheap lacquer.....
Carbon wings look great and are pretty much imune to the effects of gravel rash so a good choice.
As I remember EVO's No1 choise
