Would anybody have a link or can suggest how I can get hold of a 1.8VVC Haynes type manual?

The original Rover factoy workshop manual is part of the workshop manual for the Lotus Elise. CD copies are readily available on e-bay, or you could try asking nicely on either the Elise forum here or on the technical forum on SELOC.

I'd offer to e-mail you a copy of mine, but I'm out in the sticks on dial-up internet these days, so it would take days to send.
