Advice please on first Caterham / Westfield

Help Please!

I'm looking at buying my first caterham / derivative for track use. I only have about £7K to spend so it's the bottom end of the market, and I'm not looking for anything too shiny, just something thats sound, and goes and will survive track abuse!

I don't really know where to start in terms of getting it inspected etc, what I should be looking for etc - any help would be appreciated!
