Bad news from Newbie

Just joined up after a very frustrating blat through Shropshire - going great guns and Cat is singing UNTIL complete death of the ignition at 5k. result is first ever breakdown and claim on the breakdown insurance.

Turns out to be dirt inside ter dizzie clogging up the Lumenition optronics.

get that sorted and get it started again but tickover is now at 6k revs - with a red line at 6.5k. Throttle not jammed and appears working normally except for the v. high revs. remove petrol pipe to starve webers of fuel and they run on for at least 2 mins before starting to flutter - clearly very full of gas. Anyone got any ideas???

I am confused - HELP please
