well can anybody tell me what the pitfalls are of buying a ex racecar (k series) against a standard 120hp roadsport i realise that a race car might be slightly cosmetically challenged , but apart from that i am struggling to see the substantial price difference any advice would help before i take the plunge

How substantial is the price difference? Generally ex racecars tend to hover around the £11k mark for a Roadsport spec car and the road versions seem to be about the same money, although you can find 2005 race spec Roadsports for that sort of money, whilst the equivalent roadcar might be several years older.

well i havent seen anything to compare at the moment but there seems to be a bout 2-3k difference, is there any reasons not to buy a ex racer as an 11k 2005 is very tempting

Ahem! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/480992.htmsmile

You can have it without trailer/spares too if you so wish and it can be priced accordingly. Sorry for the blatant plugwink

No reasonm why a race car shouldn't be a great proposition, unfortunately they tend not to be cosmetically perfect but mechanically most are in excellent fettle and I probably better looked after in that respect than a lot of road cars.

if you are not too concerned about cosmetics - I have a superlight converted to full r300 spec with all race extras available for £12k.
