The title says it all but... how easy is it to swap from a full foll cage (as supplied on an Academy) to a standard roll bar?

And, more importantly what dammage/ holes would be left over?

Any ideas for costs for this?

I am looking at buying an Academy car for everyday use and would struggle with the current roll cage (and its obviously much worse for the passenger)!!

Many thanks.

I did this in 2005 with my 1997 HPC. Removing the cage was reasonably easy after the two bolts that fasten the cage in place to the top of the rear suspension turrets were removed.

Obvious problem is masking the holes that will be left on the outside skin at the edge of the scuttle. If the cage removal is a permanent decision, you could have the holes plated, filled and then sprayed as a cheapish option. Or a sideskin replacement followed by spray (this assumes the car is sprayed of course!) is the best but most expensive option and probably £300 plus paid a side. Otherwise if money is tight or you might want the cage going back on, you could either use a bolt or large grommet to cover the hole and stop water going in.

Cheers
