Me and a pal want to have some nerve numbing fun on the track - wives to stay at home!
So we thought the 7 looks like the right machine - unfortunately that is the extent of our collective knowledge!!!!
Budget of about £10K so were not looking at being seriously competitive but equally don’t want to be the girls holding everyone up!
NB. - Any females who have been upset by this post please consider that I am happily married and my wife thinks I'm quite nice!!

Bangers - you want to post the same message on www.blatchat.com. Just register and off you go. It's the Lotus 7 Owners Club but 98% of people on there own Caterhams.
At £10K you might just about get a 2.0l Vauxhall engined car at about 170bhp though they tend to be closer to £12K, with some decent tyres you'd have loads of fun. Alternatively you'd certainly get a very good Ford Crossflow engined car and the same applies. You'd probably also find a 1.6K series Supersport at 138bhp getting down to £10K and definitely a 1.4K series though this is lacking a bit in grunt for track days.
Anyway, you'll get loads of responses on Blatchat within 30 minutes and also look through the archives.

I agree with regmolehusband - get yourself over to Blatchat and look through the For Sale section.
I had a similar budget 2 years ago and ended up with an 1800 Ford crossflow engined Se7en. It gives 148bhp at the wheels and is serious fun on and off the track. Now is the time to buy, before the Spring weather bumps the prices up again.
