They offered me a tatty yet easily rectifiable Superlight for a bargain price. All it needs is a good clean and tidy up and it would be ready for lots of trackday action. If not they've currently got an ex Roadsport A (135bhp) race car for £14.5k which is essentially Superlight spec yet an awful lot cheaper (and yes it is road legal)! Any thoughts?

A tatty Superlight at a bargain price? Pay no more than £12k max. Don't touch an ex racer - harder to shift than a 911 Flat Nose. Don't let them stiff you with a piece of cr@p in p/ex. Wait until the summer and your car will then sell.

I've got a 911 flatnose up for sale too if you want it? Just kidding!!! What I don't want to do is get a cheaper Caterham and then regret it as an R300 is such a great car it will be hard to replace. The problem is that I've had 4 Caterhams now and it is very strange not having one sitting there for when I fancy a quick fix. I'm thinking of getting a MK1/2 Escort to snort around in for a few months to help ease the pain. £2k will get a half decent one with enough grunt to be fun.

Not yet, but I did collect a couple of little orange ones at Hullavington on Friday.

Did you collect them with the back wheel/exhaust?
Opps!

Opps indeed, I picked them up with the front (skillfully/luckily avoiding the big ones) by thoroughly overestimating my braking ability. Fortunately when I span off in the wet, there were no cones around.

That's handsome looking little jalopy you have there, young man and you've obviously got stuck straight in to enjoying it - well done.
