Do many "newies" turn out, or is it just the "old faithful" that turn up ?
I only ask because when you read some of these threads there's always the same few people, who all seem to know each other, who chat in them all. Will this be the same ?
The TVRCCs are the same........All the same people in their own little cliques who keep themselves to themselves and don't really speak to new people. (In my limited experience, maybe I need to attend more)
Last year when I went to BTaP I knew no-one, everyone was really friendly, I had a great time which is why I joined PH. The only reason it seems that it is the same old people is because we turn out to these events. If you don't make the effort you are never going to meet anyone.

Me too!
Regarding 'newbies', I make up name badges for everyone prior to the event with your Gassing name and your real name. You'll get those when you arrive. The table plans are mixed up so that it's not cliquey. PH has become a fun community by making meeting easy - we all know our online names so meeting in the flesh is that much easier (especially after a few ).
I very much want new faces there this year. We have 120 people there last year, most of whom hadn't met each other before. By 5am everyone was the best of friends!

Very true. I only knew a few people last year and made several new friends some of whom have since become close friends. PH may appear "cliquey" to some at times but I would argue like hell that it isn't. everyone got on spectacularly well last year and it was a fabulous night. I'm gutted I'm missing it this year and me and Shnozz will raise a beer to you all from the Middle East on the night.
P.S. even more annoying that the venue is half an hour from my house!! DANG!!!
