Then, of course, there is the question of accessories! A selection will be brought for the final decision to be made just before you leave the hotel room. Then there's which shoes, polish/unpolished toenails, to wear/not wear tights.

Accessories....perhaps that needs a new thread
Are we going to be 'dripping in diamonds' or be understated
Then , of course, what perfume are we wearing...will they clash? Too many different smells will affect our nosing of the wine

Well I have been reliably informed that men actually WANT to be able to choose from different types of clothing instead of having to do the black and white james bond thing!
I'd be very bored if I couldnt choose between colours, styles, shoes, bags, necklaces,......

oh, and ive found my dress, its not what i was after, but just as nice, £70 wont buy yet though....loadsa time yet...off to find some shoes now...

I get what you're saying Ernest - heh heh! If only it could get to the stage of "Mmmm, what car shall I bring tonight - the Bentley or the Lambo??", I might understand it!

Is it 6 weeks? or 7? its not long in shopping hours, most women work full time, and that leave s very little time to shop... for me, I have 21.5 hours shopping time to find all of the bits for the party... thats not a lot

Exactly - now you get it...

Of course being married you get the inevitable: "Does my arse look big in this?"

=== Response that works === ErnestM tip of the day. Must deliver very suavely...

"I don't know, dear. It's difficult to say. Perhaps you should take it off so that we can do a proper comparison..."

(...and it gets you out of answering as well...)

Dont leave it!! Buy it now!! Whenever I say "nah I'll buy it next week" its ALWAYS gone when I go back. If its THE dress buy it now!

If you change your mind you can always buy another nearer the time

In that case...we should all be hitting the shops beginning of November....buy very expensive frocks...and return them ( with receipt) after BT&P...and use the money we haven't spent on booze

By who????

It's annoying enough having to remember not to just sling on jeans and a T shirt as usual

The idea of actually having to decide what to wear would fill most blokes with dread
