Suprised Podie didn't notice. As for the long "round trip", you'd be suprised how often I am in The North. Not just for business these days either

Ahhh, this sounds like it may not be so 'tongue in cheek' ... (come on Podie, where are you when we need you!)... after all.

If I read between the lines correctly, hats off to a damn fine choice Sir... if not... I'll race ya!

Your good character is getting mullered Podie. Suggest you have a day off work and vigilantly watch all posts and pounce at any given oppurtunity.

As for smoking. Love it.

In response to the original question, I shall enquire about the venue's smoking policy today. People lightin up/leaving the room after every course is one of my bug bears though!

I don't mind sitting with non-smokers aslong as they don't stink of nice clean soap and aftershave etc

Seriously, From what I've seen on discussions about smoking on here, I would expect most people to be considerate to other peoples wishes.

I'm a very heavy smoker, but wouldn't expect the person next to me to put up with it while they are trying to enjoy their pie. Hence, I won't be smoking at the table.

However, I'd certainly like to be able to light up during the drinking phase...

LMAO @ PD

BBM You better take a lot of money, between you and Mungo no-one has to buy a drink.

On the smoking thing i'd like to think we are all adult enough to know when to smoke. I for one always ask if its ok to smoke and if someone minds its no problem.

Hows about we all agree not to smoke during or inbetween courses but only after EVERYONE on their table has finished eating. Only fair?
