Anyone know how tunable the 2.2 lump is?

I read somewhere that someone is doing a supercharger kit for it, for reasonable dosh...

comments please?

Better going for the turbo I reckon. Reasons....

1) Same sort of price including the supercharger mod
2) More Tuneable, 240bhp 240lb ft for £600.
3) Comes with all the turbo extras.
4) I selling one in the for sale section modded for less than £20k!!

The 2.2 is equally tuneable, but with a lower starting point we are seeing hp figures close to 190-200bhp.

The turbo has a higher starting point and having a big girly fan blowing air into the system makes it easier to tune.

Some say (inc. me) that the NA is more responsive and nutral than the T but it is subjective!

Yes there are Supercharger kits available in europe and Regal are trialling one at the moment for fitting to a 2.2 lump

I read the same - I think it was Auto Express about a mmonth or 2 ago. IIRC it was around £5000 (can't remember if VAT was extra)

Blimey....5 1/2 grand!! If I had a NA VX and wanted 200 BHP I think i'd be tempted to sell and get a VXT.

Surely any decent 2001 NA must be worth £13000? I just bought my 2003 VXT for under £18k so the idea of bolting £5500 worth of bits to a NA which will still be worth £13000 is mad? or am i mad?
