2015 Insignia fault codes- how to read

Hi,
I have a 2015 1.6 cdti insignia with an abs light, stability light and a ESC message flashing up.
Its still under vauxhall warranty and is booked into the Vauxhall dealer tomorrow.
Ive had to agree to the £99.99 diagnostic check "which is refunded if the fault is due to an issue covered by the warranty".
I suspect its an abs sensor thats failed but Id like to read the faults codes first - is there a way to read the codes on my car without a tool (I see on youtube that some models have a sequence of pedals or buttons to press to have the codes revealed).
Also whats the best, most cost effective (cheap) tool I can purchase to read and reset any faults in the future? I have an old very basic fault reader that is not reading any codes in this instance.
