It may be worth mentioning that £2000 on an aftermarket exhaust and remap will make it quicker than a 5.0 Chim in a straight line too...

Just something to perhaps budget in...

Just out of interest... I assume that you used to have a Chimaera 500?

I currently have a 4.0HC Chimaera and been looking around on here because I'm interested in the VXT. Especially one with 240/250bhp. Is that a dyno 250 or and estimate as I know that my TVR is stated to have 275 but from reading lots on forums I'm lead to believe that's a little exagerated.

I'm in the TVR today and don't know if I would miss the noise and feel of a big V8. Does the sports exhaust make much difference to the noise on a VXT?

When you look in the classified section you see 03 VXT's modified to 240bhp for £16.5k and I start to think how much newer and cheaper to run it would be......

What are the servicing/general running costs like?

HHHhhhhmmmmmm

I had a 450 but have driven a few 500's

With the map, its quicker both in a straight line and certaintly around the twisties.

Running costs are hilarious after the TVR.

£130 a service, tyres £90-£100 a corner, 40mpg if you drive conservatively.

If you fancy a black 03 VXT (Vxl warranty remaining), stage 2 modified (full stainless exhaust, race cat, remap - 250bhp 250ft/lbs), 25K, red leather, cd player, carpets, mintex 1144 pads, braided hoses, never tracked, serviced last week for about £17.5K drop me a line via profile.

the 1144's will make a big differance, make sure you fit the anti-squeel pads that come with them. Moonland is a lovely colour. I have a coral Blue myself. ( The primer looking car is "dolphin Gray/blue" )

Anti squeal pads?

ooops.

Just fitted mine and I didn't fit anything but the pads and lots of grease.

No squealing as yet. Except from my gf when I was bedding them in.
