Get on the vx220 owners club on facebook and share the link... I wouldn't waste time on the .org site as most people have migrated to FB

At least one of the FB moderators is on here so he may/may not see this.

It looks ok/great from the ad - but it's a 19 year old car with 10k on it and things perish over time regardless of servicing

I'm 10 miles away (if the ad is real) -I know my way around an na like the back of my hand - Turbos less so

As good as it gets I'd say.
Sure, things do perish over time, but a car like this that's clearly been garaged and pampered all its life, it'll be minimal!
If I were in a position, I'd be very tempted by that, grab it while you can!

Not for me. There are much better VX220 deals out there but you'll have to take higher mileage and probably wait until the end of the summer; there is a steady flow of VXs that are sold when the sun goes in.
Are you set on a turbo? You might want to extend your search to supercharged models.

What would you say a good deal looks like, there are a few higher mileage ones out there now and they are cheaper but not by loads….value your opinion, thanks.

To be honest, our opinions on what a good deal is might differ. I wouldn't want the low mileage noose around my neck because these cars are for driving; my last VX was used as a daily driver and I put 10k a year on it for 3-4 years. I'm not a turbo fan either but I have a 2.2 SC so I'm part way there!
This is going to be a bitter pill to swallow, but you will do so much better in the autumn or winter - so many people buy them for the enjoyment of roof off and winter gives limited opportunities for that.
I'd get on the FB page and look at turbos around the 15-17k area; ok, mileage will be higher and paint won't be as immaculate as the one you looked at but if you drive anywhere near anyone else then you'll get stone chips etc. Lean on the knowledge on the FB page and you'll be able to get hold of something nice. Most VXs have been owned by more than one member and history will be easy to check with the group.
