I've just sold my astra coupe turbo, and am in the market for a VXT. Anyone know of anything I should look out for/be wary of?

Also, am thinking of setting aside a bit of money when I get one (want a nice red one) to have a bit of a play. Any suggestions of what can be done fairly cheaply by way of improvement? Will consider virtually anything, i.e. aesthetic, engine, brakes, etc.

Thanks as always, and hope to be joining the ranks soon!

You won't get 250bhp out of that for £2K, but have fun anyway!

You can easily get 250bhp for £2K, this will include a stage 2 remap and full Miltek, probably get a few quid change.

It is recommended that any more than 250bhp will require a charge cooler to keep intake temps down, my VXR220 runs 280bhp with 400nm torque

Many people have used Thorney Motorsport. Have a look at this link

Well I've got a power graph that disagrees with you but experiences vary I suppose...

I suspect he meant that you won't get 250 BHP out of the Lotus for £2k... That's how I read it, anyhow.

The quote refers to the S2 111S, not a VXT.

Yep, me too, misread that.

Still at least he will know that you can easily get 250bhp from a vxt, when one goes passed him.
