Thorney still has some I think. Or you can get them from Vauxhall. Also they come up quite regularly on the for sale section on vx220.org - theyre made by Janspeed, so some Vauxhall specialist tuning shops will definitely have them.

BTW its short for Vauxhall Sports Exhaust and was an option on the NA VX when it was new.

only for the NA then, wont fot the Turbo

You can get a VSE for the Turbo.

No you can't.

OK, technically there is a VXR sports exhaust option for the VXR220 that is also available for the VXT but it is a distinctly different proposition from the "VSE" that the NA knows. The VXR exhaust is produced by Miltek and is quite a recent thing - it only came about due to the VXR220. The VSE is by Janspeed and has been around since the dawn of time and is only available in NA flavour.

So whats the correct price to pay for the VSE as new?

and what would be the correct price to pay for the Piper back box as new?
this is based on them being fitted as well.

Also, what would be the real world noise difference between the VSE and PIPER? VSE being very loud but lovely sounding, is the PIPER a viable alternative for the VX'er on a budget?

You probably want to hop over to vx220.org.uk at his point to continue this thread - it was down for a week but pretty much everyone has left here to return.

VSE for 520 + 100 fitting sounds right, I think the piper is 380 and i'd guess the 100 fitting would be constant for any backbox.

The VSE is mild steel and will rust whereas the piper is stainless and they also have a sports cat section you can upgrade to at a later date. The Piper seems to be the exhaust of choice for those looking for a bit of noise as well as performance and reliability.

There are other brands to consider such as Janspeed, Blueflame and Scorpion, but Piper is the most well known in UK VX land.

Ask over on the VX board and you will probably find a local owner with a Piper so you can have a listen.
