Hardtop - worth while?

How much difference does the hard top make to wind noise? are they better at keeping the water out?

Wind noise is reduced across the top of the windscreen on my car, and it's a bit warmer.............however its also boomier with my K&N and piper exhuast. So overall its probably not much quieter.

On leaks....hmmmm

My view would be if your car leaks then a hardtop isn't going to change that unless you get the windaes adjusted. Mine is almost 100% water tight with the hardtop but lets in a wee bit with the softtop on.

My VX is 100% Watertight with the HT. Prob about 97% without.

My VX seems quiter with the soft top as the hard top rattles and squeeks [use plenty of vaseline]

It looks alot better with the HT too - proper GT look! B)

If I didnt have one - Id buy one!

Ok, thats great, the sort of answer I was looking for, I am considering a switch and weighing up a couple of cars, one has a hard top and one doesn't and trying to decide how much it was really worth.

Mine's left outside without a hardtop - no problems apart from cat hairs and (if I don't wash it for a couple of weeks) avian and chiropteran coprolite.
